I (Christian) spent the first hour of the day in my shop ripping redwood fence boards for bracing on the trestles we will build next week. Phil and Co. will be staining them this weekend (if anyone wants to help, call him). Work started at the nursery around 10 AM with a walk around with Brad and Dave to see what his paid crew would work on today. They removed the crushed lava from the yard and saved it to use as ballast later. They refilled the yard with Mojave decomposed granite. They used the same DG to fill the town area on the east side the layout as well as Horse Shoe curve on the north east corner. We poured another concrete tunnel portal. leveled the track for trestel along the south end, and installed the stone tunnel portal we made yesterday. Cribbing was added along the north side of the track at the portal.
