The Lancaster and Northwestern
Railroad Club
OUR BEGINNINGS
The Lancaster and Northwestern Railroad Club was established in early 1999 to promote the hobby of Garden Model Railroading also known as "G" scale model railroading.
Our goal was to build a premier "G" scale modular layout with scenic details. This modular layout would be then taken to various places of interest to promote garden model railroading and our club.
OUR RAILROAD
Our basic design was an oval approximately 12' x 20'. Over the years we have added new modules and can now expand to a 30' x 60' layout. We can have a large switching yard (4' x 24') in the center of the layout.
Our entire layout is operated by DC track voltage by remote control via Aristo-Craft Train Engineer with 10 amp power supplies.
OUR CLUB
Membership is open to anyone with an active interest in railroading. Our level of experience ranges from novices to experts. Having your own equipment is not necessary for membership.
To become a regular member, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Complete a membership application
- Pay the yearly dues
- Be approved by a two-thirds vote of the membership.
- Spousal, Associate, and Dependent memberships are also available.
In addition to operating the club layout, members support the construction and maintenance of outdoor layouts at the homes of various members.
